Some experimental considerations on the transverse Stern-Gerlach experiment for free electrons Vogel, William Martin
Abstract
Apparatus has been constructed to measure the g-factor of free electrons by means of a "transverse Stern-Gerlach experiment". The g-factor has not yet been measured, but preliminary experiments have been performed. Some of the theoretical aspects of the experiment are discussed, and an order of magnitude for the effect calculated. Construction and operation of the apparatus is described, and suggestions for improvements given. Suggestions for a future experiment are given.
