Wednesday,   October   19th,   1932
The   first   regular   meeting of   the   Senate   of   The
University   of   British   Columbia for   the   Session   1932-35
was held on Wednesday, October 19th, 1932, at 8:00 p.m.,
in the Board and Senate Room.
Present: President L. S. Klinck (in the Chair),
Dean F. M. Clement, Dean R. W. Brock, Dean D. Buchanan,
Mr. J. M. Turnbull, Dr. A. H. Hutchinson, Mr. G. W.
Clark, Rev. Dr. W. H. Vance, Dr. G. G. Sedgewick,
Mr. H. T. Logan, Mr. A. E. Lord, Mr. G. W. Scott, Dr.
Evlyn F. Farris, Dr. C. Killam, Miss A. B. Jamieson,
Mr. Sydney Anderson and the Most Rev. A.U. dePencier.

regular   meeting   of   August   26th,

Awarded   to  Miss   Ruth   Cheeseman,   Fourth
Year   combined   course   in   Arts   and   Science
and  Nursing   and   Health.
David   Thorn  Bursary   -      for   the   student   registered
in   First   Year   Agriculture   standing   highest
in   Junior  Matriculation   awarded   to
Mr.   Cedric   Hornby.
American  Women's   Club   Bursary
Awarded   to   Miss   Kathleen   Robertson,   a
registered   student   in   Second   Year
Arts   and   Science.
From   the   Board   of   Governors:
Letters   from   the   Board   of   Governors   were   read
giving   approval   to   the   following   recommendations   of   Senate:
The   Calendar   for   1932-33.
Provision for an additional Junior Matriculation
Scholarship   of   $100.00   for   District   No.   4.
Provision for an additional Khaki University and
Y.M.C.A. Scholarship awarded George Samuel Allen
(Fourth Year Forestry).
Acceptance of the Beverley Cayley Scholarship
for 1932-33.
From the Faculties:
Report   on   Supplemental   Examinations,   Special
Examinations   and   Re-readings
This   report   was   accepted.
Candidates   for   Degrees,   Autumn   Congregation,
A   report   was   received   in   reference   to    students
who,    since   the   Congregation   of   May   5th,   1932,   had   completed   courses   for  a   degree   or   a   diploma. 241.

in   the   University.

last   April   was   defined   as   "failed   unless
all    supplementals   passed   in   September",
he   granted   permission   to   proceed   to   the
work   of   the   Fourth   Year   conditioned   in
