NOTICE TO PASSENGERS
This ship is inspected each year by the Canadian Government Department of Transport and
her hull and equipment complies with the provisions of the International Convention for the
Safety of Life at Sea. The Officers have undergone
special training in the theory Gnd application of
all equipment and a comprehensive instruction
and routine practice drill is carried out at regular
intervals.
This ship is also equipped with an automatic
fire alarm and sprinkler system.
Fire Axes are located in the vicinity of all
stairways.
Life belts are located in cl! staterooms in overhead racks, and in box seats on the outside
decks.
Approved Buoyancy Apparatus and Lifeboats.
METHOD OF FITTING LIFEBELT
FIRST POSITION
Place the jacket over the head and pass the arms
through the arm holes. It will slip over the head
easier if (he hollow shape of the back pocket is
first placed against the back of the neck and the
jacket   then    drawn    down    over   the    head,    as
indicated above.
SECOND POSITION
Tie  a  half  knot with
the tapes in front.
THIRD POSITION
Draw them well tight
and complete the knot.
It is unnecessary to tie
the tapes at the back.
1. Passengers are specifically asked to refrain
from smoking in bed and at all times to be
extremely careful in disposing of cigar and
cigarette stubs, etc. Each cabin is equipped
with  a  suitable  receptacle.
2. The company will not be responsible for the
loss of any article taken by passengers into
staterooms. Passengers may check with the
Purser  valuables  such  as  jewels  and  money.
3. A passenger paying for one berth is entitled
to that berth only, and shall share the stateroom with the purchaser or purchasers of the
other berth or berths.
4. Kindly report any incivility or inattention on
the part of employees to the Captain at once,
or the Manager of the company's B.C. Coast
Steamship Service at Victoria, B.C.
5. Before vacating your room, do not fail to
check to ensure that you have removed all
your  articles.
