In these days of national stress it is imperative that every car owner should conform to the Government's ! injunction to eliminate waste of every form. There has been a tremendous , ex- | travagance and waste in automobile ! tires. The amount of mileage lost i each year, expressed in money value, • runs well into the hundreds of mil- • lions. This represents the enormous ! quantity of tires that were not given j an even chance to deliver their full | service, because of neglect, abuse or sheer carelessness. Tire experts estimate that last year's tire loss wan fully $150,000,000. Figured at $35 per' part of this waste has been caused by tire, which is a good average price,' a lack of appreciation of the care thati more than 4,000!u00 tires were wasted panies are to have an even chance to supply the tire needs of the 0,000,000 motor vehicles now registered in the United States and Canada and of the new cars that are being turned out every day, and at the same time take care of the rubber needs of the Government, every car owner must make his tires deliver the last possiblemile. The needs of the Government are paramount and must be supplied, whether anybody else gets tires or not, and the most patriotic service that ©car owners can render is to help the enormous waste that has been rife.
