Grants to  refuge homes, aid societies, etc, is increased from $19,000  to $80,000.  University  of B,  C.  '   Among    the      appropriations     In   this  ■ year's, estimates is a conditional one of  $200,000   for   the   University   of   British  Columbia.        Last   year's   estimate   was  $175,000.        Included   in   the   works   and  buildings to be constructed by the Public   Works   Department   are   the   following;     Okalla     prison      farm,      ?15,000;  improvement    of     government    reserve,  Burnabv,    $10,000:   mental   hospital   and  colony farm, Essondale,  $35,000; provincial government buildings, London (completion     and     maintenance),      $175,000;  maintenance, $8,000.    The appropriations  provincial    normal     school,     Vancouver.  . for roads,   stieets,  bridges  and   wharves  in   each   constituency   are   the   same   as  last     year.       Chilliwack     gets     133,300:  Delta,    $22,500;    Dewdnoy,    $6S,500,    and  Richmond   $40,000.    Eighty   thousand   Is  revoted for Kingsway through tht  Municipality   of   Buinaby.    Point   Giey   gets  $10,000*   for   roads,   and   Nicomen   Tsland  ; the same amount for dyking; $13,500 is a  subsidy for the Ladner-Woodward ferry.  The   vote   of   $100,000 > on   last   year's  estimates for the Second Narrows bridge  is left off.
