In one day there were 1,275 hog's delivered^ auto trucks >,to the South Omaha market, the highest number received in one day. f The shortage of railway cars is responsible for thev increasing popularity of auto truck transportation, and the farmers find that there is considerable > saving in shrinkage and time as compared with rail shipment. From 10 to 20 hogs may be loaded In a truck, and the charge is about 25 cents per 100 pounds up to 25 miles, an additional 10 cents per 100 pounds being added for longer distances.
