Last winter the city found itself in the unenviable position of the landlord with more guests on his hands than he could comfortably entertain, and not a few visitors departed with a feeling that they had encountered a community limited in foresight as«well as lacking in enterprise. It listens like sound logic to predict that the city will be much more crowded than ever during the coming winter with the usual influx ©f Manitoba arid < prairie;>"provinces residents, who. make it.: a regular practice to come to the' icbast- to escape tome of the winter months in the wheat belt. Added to these will be the thousands of returned men who Will also be back home in about another month now, and it can easily be imagined that housing accommodation of any kind in-the city is likely to be at a premium. Already there is a very marked house famine. Wna't will it be when the influx of winter tourists, comprising people of means who wish to spend several months here, and are not really transients, comes on top of the present crowded state of available housing accommodation? Good business acumen would seem to distate that several large, conveniently-situated apartment houses be erected here at this time.
