"Captain's journal of a fur-trading voyage to the northwest coast on Le Bordelais which reached Nootka Sound on September 2, 1817 and remained for some weeks. This was the first recorded visit since the massacre of the crew of the Boston and contains particulars of the Indians and the chief Maquinna.
