UBC : How We Are Organized McElroy, Anabella; Solarik, Eden; Sadleir, Harry
Abstract
How and what kind of knowledge is produced is hugely consequential for society and culture at large. Particularly impactful on this knowledge production process within the university is the organization of faculties, schools, and departments. This organization can encourage or inhibit collaboration, decide where funding goes, and impact the classes and degrees students choose. In order to gain insight into the full impact of the organizational structure of UBC, we will be analyzing it as an information organization system.
