Historical narrative of the canning industry in British Columbia’s southern interior. Jones, Vincent Peter
Abstract
The canning industry in the Okanagan can be seen to have existed for about one hundred years and this article covers that span. Whilst not intended to be completely comprehensive, this article outlines the information for almost every cannery that has ever existed in the Okanagan. It should be noted that the information on which this narrative is based comes principally from the Ian F. Greenwood collection at the Kelowna Public Archives.
