Graduate recital Zhuo, Rui-Shi
Abstract
This is a compilation of the music performed at the graduation recital of Rui-Shi Zhuo on January 28, 1995, at 8:00 p.m. in the U.B.C. Recital Hall. There were five pieces performed that evening including Fixation for Woodwind Octet, written in 1992. Three Sketches of Chinese Countryside, written in 1991. String Quartet No.l [Qi] [Shen] [Xing], was written in 1993. Both works Variation On G and Dao Ban for Pi-Pa and Chamber Ensemble were written in 1994, especially the Dao Ban was written for Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and co-commissioned by Vancouver New Music Society and Asia Pacific Foundation. The Dao Ban premiered on January 19th, 1994. A cassette copy of the recital is available with this book.
