Factory wide automation Mertin, E. Allan
The objective of this thesis is to develop and test the ability of a simple, distributed control architecture to synchronize multiple machine processes. The work reported in this thesis is based on the extension of the UBC control architecture to a distributed system. The resulting network has been both simulated and tested using an NC lathe and process control element. The results are encouraging, it is believed that the system developed has significant practical promise.
