Abstract
The investigation of iodine trifluoromethanesulfonates was initiated by the synthesis of I(S₃CF₃)₃ via the reaction: [formula not included] Isolation of iodine(III) tristrifluoromethanesulfonate was possible because of the very low solubility of the compounds in the acid mixture.
