Computer assisted methods selection for high-rise construction Sharma, Anoop

Abstract

The intention of this thesis is to represent construction methods and resources, determine how their description can be tailored to the project at hand, represent the construction context and key attributes of the design solution, and show how methods and physical description should be linked. Additionally, work is directed at the spectrum of issues that have to be considered in order to judge the feasibility of a method for a given construction and design context, and at how the reasoning about the applicability of a given method to a specific context can at least be partially automated. Several of the concepts developed have been implemented in a research project management system called REPCON. The context of high-rise building construction has been used as a project context.
