A Critical Recommendation to The University of British Colombia’s Green Building Action Plan, for : Implementing Standardised Human Factor Policy and Metrics in the Emergent Component of Health and Well-being for Institutional Buildings

Through the appropriation of current guidelines, policies and case studies to the unique University of British Colombia context, this paper recommends metrics and policy to the Green Building Action Plan’s emerging component ‘Health & Wellbeing’ and it’s sub-components (thermal comfort, sound, materials, community and mind) to aid further development. These recommendations will encourage the social pedagogy and measurability of health & wellbeing as a major contributor to the overall productivity of communities, and in doing so, raise awareness of subsequent outcomes for institutional buildings in the green building landscape.
