From one to Another : a fragmentary complex Ewing, Lukas
Abstract
This project traces the explorations, memories, and personal identity of an intercountry adoptee following his reconnection with his biological mother. Part 1 [a fragmentary complex] depicts two tangential and intersecting narratives, revealed through interactions with a 1:5 scale model, representing a 3x3m shelter situated in Thái Nguyên, Vietnam. Part 2 [ From one to Another ] investigates the rigid and hierarchical process of intercountry adoption from Vietnam to Canada and considers the role of the built environment as displaced individuals navigate uncertainty.
