Living sentences and writing lines: Peering over the razor wire and through the opaque windows to examine themes in prisoner’s writing in Canada Smith, Barbara

This study examined, through narrative analysis, published prison writing, focusing on how the authors of these writings describe their lives both before and in prison and how, through such writing, prisoners articulate a sense of their identities. The goal of this study was to highlight the value of these narrations to gain a deeper understanding of prisoners’ experiences.
