Abstract

The dearth of information in British Columbia (B.C.) on academic physician supply, let alone requirements, prompted the present study. Its aims were relatively straightforward - to attempt to estimate the current academic medical manpower supply in B.C., to compile estimates of future requirements under a number of alternative future University of British Columbia (UBC) medical school scenarios, and to examine the extent of overlap of clinical and academic activity among B.C.'s physicians.
