Abstract
The Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources has directed most of its activity toward enforcement of reclamation of coal mines. The many proposed coal projects have necessitated that a strong emphasis be placed on coal mine reclamation. There are many examples of excellent progress in reclamation within the British Columbia mining industry. For the past four years a mine reclamation award and two to three citations have been presented each year for outstanding achievement.
