Based on data collected by participant observation and unstructured interviewing, this study presents an analytic portrayal of the work routines of Emergency Medical Assistants in Vancouver, BC. Topics discussed include work routines, local understandings of events, and interrelationships between emergency personnel, their colleagues, and others.
