In this talk, we consider one relativistic nucleon interacting with classical $\sigma$ and $\omega$ mesons fields in an atomic nucleus. I will explain that, in the nonrelativistic limit of nuclear physics, the model converges to a specific nonlinear SchrÃ¶dinger-type equation with a mass depending on the solution itself. I will also discuss open problems concerning the case of several nucleons. Joint work with Mathieu Lewin.
