It is thought that the smelter will be ready to begin operations in another week's time, however. One was an application to construct a branch from its mainline, esteading t, Columbia and Grand Forks. Another was for a branch to tbe Granby stm-lter. Another was lor approval of the plans and prof] es of a crossing of the Grand Forks & Kettle River railway, and anothe was for permission to cross tbe Columbia & Western railway.
