Farther up the creek another drift, vvhich*was started a few weeks ago, is in about 30 feet, and in this the pay is equally as satisfactory as in the drift already mentioned. One notable feature is that the value of pay steadily increases with distance from the creek, and suggests that the gutter of tbe ancient auriferous channel has not yet been reached. From panning tests, the gravel of | tbe pay streak will average from 12 to 15 cents to the pan. Two nuggets, worth over $40 apiece, were recently picked up\" off bedrock.
