Government wharf, and the employment of Orential labor, as these points were emphasized and fully dwelt on by the Liberal Candidate in order to show that the present party in power were negligent of their duties. Mr. Manson was then called upon and he made an excellent speech In a creditable and sensible manner so tbat all present could understand fully what the government was doing for Ibe welfare of the district generally. It appears from the published statements made with respect to the pamphlet that the real author and finisher of the work is Moses Cotsworth. The Ministerial Union apparently know little about the matter of their own knowledge. They accept the statements as set forth by Moses Cotsworth who is well known on this coast dating back ovcr about ten years time. Mr. Cotsworth has long had a desire to get after the .McBride Government. He is a wizard on figures lulling prepared a valuable set of tables for accountants' and having worked out a new calendar which he has wanted to have adopted. We are inclined to think that he has been devoting his craze for figures to wnt lii.-, spleen against the McBride Governmenl tor which he has long had no love. lt. will likely he found that his personal antipathies have been allowed to come into the pamphlet he prepared. J. B. GILLATT, Capt. Adjt. 68th Regl. . (E.G.O.R.) British Columbia concern, has succeeded in establishing its products In a market hitherto exclusively German. Up to the time of the war, Mr. Wbalen's company had never made a shipment to the Argentine. Through the tying up of the German vessels, it became necessary for the paper mills of Buenos Ayres and other Argentine centres, to look else where than to the "Fatherland" for pulp. That is how the B.C. company got in. and from all indications- it will remain. Several shipments have already been made and the lack of transportation facilities is the only thin? that prevents the building up of a fine trade The Argentine presents a splendid field for other Canadian industries, according to Mr. Whalen, and he considers it. essential that a line of steamers should be established between Vancouver and Buenos Ayres via the Panama Canal.
