While there were grave fears that in a year like the present one, when the financial situation is strained owing to tbe war, the votes for public works in the province might be cut very low, it is gratifying to learn that the Government has decided otherwise. In a new district like Skeena there is a vast amount to be done to prepare for the development that must come with the cessation of hostilities. The Member for tbe district, Mr. Manson, is keenly alive to the situation. He is, moreover, most persistent in pressing upon the Government the needs of the district.
