We would like it very much if you think it would be useful; but first we should like to make some improvements in them. I don't think the part about the furnishing of statistics by the medical officers is good enough. We shall be at Oxford next week for a meeting.  Might I pay you an afternoon visit on my way back on Wednesday, or is it too bad to propose it when you are so busy?  It would be so good to see you, not only for business. I am not in the way of knowing how the matter would be worked practically, as to the medical officers, & if we could talk it over now or later, it would be a great help. Mr. Acland we know is very sympathetic & we hear Mr. Asquith looks to him for information on labour matters.  We hope to see Mr. Acland when he comes back, and Vaughan is also going to see Lord Ripon when he is in town again. As to men, we know of one at any rate who would be good, as a scientific expert. Mr. Arthur Laurie. He is a person of reputation Рa chemist & quite sufficiently well-known & esteemed. But of this anon. I am afraid you will not find Dr. Arlidge's book very satisfactory reading.
