Great Lakes cruise.
As a short holiday in itself the round-trip
voyage—either way—aboard "Keewatin," or
"Assiniboia" is attractive. Schedules allow
time for visits to Toronto and southern Ontario for eastbound passengers. Westbound
passengers who have chosen the leisurely
interlude of the scenic steamship voyage up
the Great Lakes have an ample opportunity
for sight seeing. Between the breakfast time
arrival of the ship at the Lakehead and the
lunch time westward departure of "The
Canadian" there is time for sightseeing at Fort
William and Port Arthur ...time to see the
great harbour...the huge grain elevators..*
the parks of both cities...the Fort William
Zoo devoted to local wild life ... and, with
the opening of the great St. Lawrence Seaway,
to watch the evolution of Canada's head of
inland waterway navigation into an international deep sea port.
