Wright were returning\nfrom Phoenix to Columbia on a\n\"speeder.\" When a short distance\nabove Fisherman station, coming at\ngood speed and rounding a curve, they\nsuddenly came upon two horses which\nhad strayed outo the track. The animals appeared to be greatly frightened, and f-ped away down the track\nat a furious rate, the speeder following at a distance. Finally the horses\ncame to the trestle over Fisherman\ncreek, which, in their fright; they\nassayed to cross. The buckskin succeeded in getting over, but the white\none got a leg down between the ties\nand was fast. On approach of the\nmen. who desired to aid the animal to\nfree itself, it succeeded in extracting\nits leg from between the ties, aud despairing of making the rest of the journey across the bridge, it locked over\nthe side as if to note the distance to\nterra lirina, and then leaped into\nspace. It was an exciting scene for\nthe onlookers, who stood breathless\nwhile the unfortunate animal shot\ndownward a distance of 150 leet or\nmore.
