At the B. C. Copper Co's smelter many new things are being done at present. The new briquetting plant will start and the bins, etc., finished. The work of lacing up belts is going on at present; and the framework for the bucket elevator that is to raise flue dust to the bin is nearly done. On the slag railway the electric locomotive has beeti thoroughly tested. The wires a**e strung from about the middle of the main dump to No. 1 furnace. The new iron trestle between the hill on the west and the Copper Creek dump has been finished. The track now extends a consi erable distance along the this hill. It is intended to eventually run this dump to the end of the company's property here. As soon as the dump along the hill, has been built out far enough the track will be straighten* d.so as to avoid all curves. This will make track shifting much easier. Poles for the electric wires will be put the rest of the way arouud the dump soon. The old vamp station has been mo\ed to the Copper Creek dump and jr. about a week. The heavy machin ery is all in place, th.* moter set up, ^connected up with the pond backed up there. In dry weather the water from the jackets will be run into this pond to cool. From there it will be pumped back into the tank. 'New Steel Ore Cars About half a dozen new all steel ore ears made their first appearance on the Boundary Falls smelter line last Friday.
