Del-ays', tie said had occurred and\nwere likely to occur, as the result,of un\nforeseen difficulties, but notwithstanding\nthese it was the intention of his company\nto push on the work as fast as circumstances would, permit, and. that the public\nwould do well to pay no attention to anv\nrumors to the contrary. \u00E2\u0080\u00A2'.- '. \u00E2\u0080\u00A2'\nThis statement coming as'a't- does from\none in authority, is good nefo ,jtpv. the\npeople in the Similkameen, ivtfS.\" have\nbeen anxiously watching the''\"progress\nmade on this road ' Slow headway has\ncertainly been made, but when it is t iken\ninto consideration that delays have occurred that were entirely beyond the\ncompany's control, as scarcity of labor,\nlack of material, and want of fuel owing\nto the coal miners' strikes, it will be\nseen that all possible progress has been\n. made.\nThe track reached the Armstrong\nbridge Saturday night and on Monday\nthe piledriver got to work driving piles\nfor the approach. Barring accidents the\nbridge should be completed in three or\nfour weeks, and Keremeos reached by\nJune 15. Whether construction will\nthen be proceeded with to Princeton re\ninains to be seen, but there is no good\nreason as yet advanced why it will not.\nIn the meantime let us believe it will.\nSALE OF COAL LANDS.\nSince January 4th of the- present year\ncoal lands, chiefly in the province of Alberta, aggregating too,000 acres, have\nbeen disposed of by the Dominion Gov-\nr ernment. The number of parcels sold\n^ has been 327, the price in each case being\n$7 an acre.
