This\nwould bz both a teaching h&cility and\nan emotional counselling service.\nIt was explained that the reason for referring the proposals\nto a committee was to find out if they were practical and if so to\nfind methods of applying them. C.A.U.T. also recommended that an officer of the university be responsible for\naccumulating monthly listings of vacancies from the appropriate\nDeans, and that emergency appointments be made without advertising,\nat the discretion of a senior university official, subject only to\na review to determine the necessity of the pre-emptory appointment.\nIt was also pointed out that C.A.U.T. had written to all the\npresidents of Canadian universities advising them of their recommendations. It will be\nawarded to a student on the basis of financial need.\nThe Walter D. Frith Student Aid Fund. 1969\nThe annual income from this fund, established by a bequest from the\nlate Bessie Churchill Frith, provides scholarships and bursaries for\ndeserving students attending The University of British Columbia.\nThe Graduating Classes of 1970 Bursary\nThis bursary, established and endowed by the Graduating Classes of\n1970, will be awarded annually to a student or students in any year\nand faculty. Special consideration will be given to those with\nphysical handicaps.\nThe Ernest Wilby Memorial Scholarship\nA scholarship of $500, gift of the Royal Architectural Institute of\nCanada, will be awarded in 1972 to a student entering the penultimate\nyear.
