C.\nTeachers' Federation for special classes and assistance in academic and professional work:- (320)\nWednesday, February 21st, 1923.\nReport of the Senate Committee on Extra-mural Courses\nThe following resolutions will be laid before Senate:\n1. That the Senate approve the establishment of\nextra-mural courses in the University work of\nthe first two years in Arts, it being understood\nthat the fees charged for such courses cover the\nexpense of clerical work and any other expenses\ninvolved.\n2. That, in view of the educational needs of the\nprovince, the Senate strongly recommend the\nappointment of a Professor of Education, part\nof whose duty shall be the organization of extramural and Summer Session courses in his subject.\nMr. Fergusson)\nMr. Gordon ) That these resolutions be\nconsidered. Mr. Fergusson, with the consent\nof his seconder agreed to this.\nThe motion was put to vote, and lost - ayes 8;\nnays 9. y\n(321)\nWednesday, February 21st, 1923.\n738 The Chair announced that an invitation had\nbeen extended to the Chiropractors and to the College\nof Physicians and Surgeons to appear before Senate but\nthat neither of these organizations had availed itself\nof the opportunity offered.\nThe Chair also announced that representatives\nof the press had asked to be admitted.\nDr. Clay )\nMr. Argue) That, in view of the fact that the\npress was not admitted to the\nspecial meeting on Friday night,\nin the judgment of this session, it\nis undesirable that they should be\nadmitted now to hear only a part\nof the discussion.\nMotion withdrawn, as unnecessary.\n739 (b) On Examinations for Chiropractors:\nReport\nof Senate Committee\nOn Examinations for Chiropractors\nFebruary 21st, 1923.\nPursuant to your instruction your Committee\nbeg to submit the following resolutions, -\n1. RESOLVED that pursuant to the provisions of\nthe Medical Aot Amendment Act 1922, the Senate\nof The University of British Columbia does\nhereby appoint Dr. Alison Cumming, and Dr.\nR. H. Mullin, both being duly qualified members\nof the College of Physicians and Surgeons of\nBritish Columbia in good standing, and Dr.\nWillard Coates, and Dr. J. Leo Rice, both being\nduly qualified Chiropractors as defined in\nSection 29A of the Medical Act as set out in\nSection 3 of the Medical Act Amendment Aot 1922,\nas four members of the Examining Board provided\nfor in said Section 29A, for the year 1923. (322)\nWednesday, February 21st, 19 23.\n2* RESOLVED that the Senate of The University\nof British Columbia, pursuant to the powers\nconferred upon it by the Medical Act Amendment\nAot 1922, does hereby order that the examination\nauthorised to be held under Section 29A of the\nMedical Aot Amendment Aot 1922, be held at The\nUniversity of British Columbia, in the City of\nVancouver, commencing Tuesday the 13th day of\nMarch, 1923, at the hour of 9 o'clock in the\nmorning, and that the Seoretary of the Senate\ndo forthwith give notice of said examination by\nadvertising the same in two issues of the British\nColumbia Gazette, and daily for two weeks in a\ndaily newspaper published in the City of Victoria\nand In the City of Vancouver. The said notice\nshall be as follows, -\nTAKE NOTICE that, pursuant to Section 3 of\nthe Medical Aot Amendment Act 1922, the\nSenate of The University of British Columbia\nhas arranged for an examination, and an\nexamination will be held, at The University\nof British Columbia, commencing Tuesday the\n13th day of March, 1923, at 9 A.M., of such\nduly qualified Chiropractors as defined in\nthe said Act, as may present themselves for\nexamination pursuant to said Section 3, and\nwho shall make application for such\nexamination as hereinafter provided.\nAND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that all applicants\nshould forward their applications for the\nexamination, together with certificates\nshewing that they are duly qualified Chiropractors within the meaning of the Medical\nAct Amendment Act 1922, and the fee, viz\nOne Hundred Dollars ($100.00), for such\nexamination, to the undersigned before the\n7th day of March, 1923.\nAny further informati on. required will be\nfurnished by the undersigned.\nSecretary of the Examining Board\nfor Chiropractors, The\nUniversity of British Columbia,\nVancouver, E.
