"The date is stamped onto the bookplate on two different lines in black ink. The Montreal Diocesan Theological College, also known as Montreal Dio, has operated since 1873. It trains people for Christian ministry in the Anglican tradition. It is affiliated with McGill University. The College Library was started by Dr. Lobley. Early library books came from associates of Dr. Thomas Bray, who bequeathed money to found libraries upon his death in 1730. Dr. Lobley mentions the library in 1875 and is noted in the 1879-1889 Calendar. Several donations helped develop the library’s collection, which focused primarily on works by Anglican writers
