Mrs. Matthews of\nNelson, Mre. Cross of Rossland, and\nMrs. Spier of this city, were appointed judges. The Rossland guards,\nsixteen in number, gave Ihe lirst\ndrill, and made a very striking appearance in their white costumes,\nsashes and aprons. They executed\nsome very pretty figures, and received a very hearty applause from\nthe audience. The Grand Forks\nguards, twelve in number, then\nmade tbeir lirst appearunoe before\nthe public, and also made an equally\nstriking showing in black costuniei,\nniorlnr-board caps and the colors of\nthe order.
