SUPERANNUATION REPORT, 1926-27.\nReport of the business done in pursuance of the \" Superannuation Act\" during the fiscal\nyear 1926-27.\nSection 5.\u2014Contributions were made by the employees of the British Columbia Government\nof $126,865.82;  by the employees of the City! of Duncan of $1S7.S0.\nSection 6.\u2014On April 1st, 1926, 256 persons were contributing more than 4 per cent. During\nthe year twenty-five additional persons were granted permission to make increased contributions,\nwhile six of those making increased contributions were superannuated, two died, and three others\nleft the Service, leaving 270 making increased contributions on March 31st, 1927.\nSection 7.\u2014Contributions were made by the Government and by the City of Duncan of a\nlike amount to the contributions of their employees respectively.\nSection 9.\u2014The number of the contributors taking advantage of this section to make voluntary contributions- during the year was unchanged from the previous year.\nSection 11.\u2014Interest was credited at the rate of 5 per cent, per annum on September 30th\nand March Slst on the credit balances of the previous April 1st and! October 1st respectively.\nSection 12.\u2014A statement of all moneys received and paid out under the provisions of this\nAct and the assets and liabilities appertaining to the granting of superannuation allowances\nunder its provisions is given in Schedule No. 1.\nSection 18.\u2014 (1.) (a.) The sum of $2S,327.91 was refunded under sections IS, 19, and 38 to\nemployees of tbe British Columbia Government. A like amount was transferred from the British\nColumbia Government Employer's Account tot the Special Reserve Fund.\n(3.) The debit balance of the account of the British Columbia Government in the Special\nReserve Fund amounted to $199,411.51 on March 31st, 19-27. Interest at the rate of 5 per cent,\nper annum was charged on the debit balance of this account.\nSection lit.\u2014Superannuation allowances were granted to teiii persons, as per Schedule No. 2.\nSection 18.\u2014Ten contributors died during the fiscal year and refunds were made to their\nlegal representatives.\nSection 19.\u2014One hundred and forty contributors, on leaving the Government Service, secured\nrefunds of the amount standing at their credit.
