Pearse, the Dominion Engineer, proceeded to New Westminster and ran a line cutting off 77.90 acres from the east side of the said park, including\nGovernment House and all the Camp; and that the plan and field notes of that survey are\nat the office of the Eesident Dominion Engineer, Mr. Pearse.\nThat with the exception of the Government Buildings, including Government House\nand grounds, the park is unoccupied.\nThat the park has been and is at present used as a place of public resort, and about\nten acres thereof converted into a cricket field.\nThat the return of reservations made by Mr. Pearse, then Surveyor-General, to the\nDominion Government, shows this park as a reserve of 257.04 acres, without any subdivision, and recommending that the Dominion Government be respectfully requested to\ntransfer to the Provincial Government the Western portion of the park, amounting to\n179.5 acres, which includes the unoccupied portion and cricket ground; and also to instruct Mr. Pearse to furnish the Lands and Works Department with a copy of the\nsurvey and field notes made by Mr. Stephens.\nThe Committee advise that the recommendation be approved.\nJ(Signed)       A.
