FRED HUME,\nProvincial Secretary's Office, Provincial Secretary.\n16th January, 1899.\nGOVERNMENT HOUSE, VICTORIA.\n5th November, 1898.\nPRESENT:\nHIS HONOUR THE LIEUTENANT-GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.\nTITHEREAS by an Act to provide for the recognition in this Province of Probates and\nVV Letters of Administration granted in the United Kingdom and elsewhere, it is enacted\nthat the Lieutenant-Governor in Council may, from time to time, on being satisfied that the\nLegislature of the United Kingdom, or of any British possession, has made adequate provisions\nfor the recognition in the United Kingdom, or in that possession, of Probates and Letters of\nAdministration granted by the Courts of this Province, direct by Order in Council that the\nsaid Act now under recital shall, subject to any exceptions and modifications specified in the\nOrder, apply to the United Kingdom or that possession while the Order is in force:\nAnd whereas the Lieutenant-Governor in Council is satisfied that the Legislature of the\nProvince of Ontario has, in and by the \"Surrogate Courts Act,\" made adequate, provision for\nrecognition in that Province of Probates and Letters of Administration granted by the Courts\nof this Province:\nIt is ordered and declared by His Honour the Lieutenant-Governor, by and with the\nadvice of his Executive Council, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred on and\nvested in the Lieutenant-Governor in Council by the said hereinbefore recited Act of the\nLegislative Assembly, that from and after the fifth day of November, one thousand eight\nhundred and ninety-eight, the \" Probates Recognition Act\" shall apply to the Province of\nOntario.\nA.
