Stats., 1895.\nBy Command.\nJAMES BAKER,\nProvincial Secretary.\n5th February, 1896.\nCertified Copy of a Report of a Committee of the Honourable the Executive Council, approved\nby His Honour the Lieutenant-Governor on the 9th day of March, 1895.\nThe Committee of Council in pursuance of Bill No. 5 of the Statutes of last session,\nintituled \" An Act to Authorize the Revision of the Statutes,\" recommend that a Commission\nunder the Great Seal of the Province issue to the Honourable Theodore Davie, Chief Justice\nof the Province, constituting him a Commissioner for revising and consolidating a new edition\nof the Laws of the Province of British Columbia, and of the Statute Law of England in force\nand applicable to this Province.\nA. Eberts,\nA ttorney-General.\nVictoria, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, and of\nthe Colonies thereunder belonging, Queen, Defender of the Faith, etc., etc. etc.\nTo the Honourable Theodore Davie, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of British Columbia \u25a0\nWhereas by an Act to authorize the Revision of the Statutes, passed during the last\nsession of the Legislature, it is, among other things, provided that it shall be lawful for the\nLieutenant-Governor of the Province of British Columbia in Council to issue a Commission\nunder the Great Seal to one or more person or persons, constituting him or them Commissioner\nor Commissioners for revising and consolidating a new edition of the Laws of the Province of\nBritish Columbia, and also, should the Lieutenant-Governor in Council see fit, of the Statute\nLaw of England in force in and applicable to the Province of British Columbia : 586 Re Appointment of Commissioner, Rev. Statutes. 1896\nAnd whereas by an Order of His Honour the Lieutenant-Governor in Council, approved\nby His Honour on the 9th day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, it was\ndirected that pursuant to the said Statute a Commission should issue to you, the said Theodore\nDavie, constituting you such Commissioner for revising and consolidating a new edition of the\nLaws of the Province of British Columbia, and of the Statute Law of England in force and\napplicable to this Province :\nNOW KNOW YOU, the said Theodore Davie, that having every confidence in your\nlearning, ability and discretion, we do hereby, in pursuance of the powers contained in the\nsaid Act to authorize the Revision of the Statutes and of all other powers and authorities vested\nin Us in that behalf, constitute and appoint you, the said Theodore Davie, to be sole Commissioner for revising and consolidating a new edition of the Laws of the Province of British\nColumbia, and also of the Statute Law of England in force and applicable to this Province.\nIn Testimony Whereof, We have caused these Our Letters to be made Patent,\nand the Great Seal of Our said Province of British Columbia to be hereunto affixed : Witness, the Honourable Edgar Dewdney, Lieutenant-\nGovernor of Our Province of British Columbia, at Our Government House,\nat Our City of Victoria, this ninth day of March, in the Year of Our Lord\none thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, and of Our Reign the fifty-\neighth.\nBy Command.\n(Signed)        James Baker,\nProvincial Secretary.\nVICTORIA, B.
