He stated that the\ntonnage output hod largely increased\nin the last fiscal year, amounting to\nan increase of over forty per cent over\nthe previous year. Briefly he referred\nto the chief events of the .year in the\noperations of the company, paying a\nhigh compliment to the local management for the way the emergency was\nmet last winter when one of the huge\nore crUBhers was burned, which was\ndone without largely decreasing current production. In view of the higher price of copper ruling since last\nfall, it hod been deemed wise to mine\nlarge quantities of ore carrying a\nsmaller percentage of copper than the\naverage run of the mines. Active\nwork had been going on continually\nand large bodies of ore had been opened up by diamond drills in the Victoria and Aetna claims^ where a new\nshaft is how being sunk and the ne\ncessary improvements installed for\ncrashing and shipping this output, the\nfirst shipment from this outlet probably to be made at the end of the\nyear.\nHe stated that development of the\nGold Drop group, purchased a year\nago proyed satisfactory, and for\nsomo months ore shipments from this\npart of the Granby group averaged\nover two hundred tons per day. A\ntunnel is being pushed towards the\nMonarch property, owued by the company, also opening up satisfactory ore\nbodies. The length and width is not\nyet fully determined, but indications\npoint to large bodies of ore, a considerable portion of which will soon be\navailable for hoisting. These developments, Mr. Langeloth stated, have\nlargely increased the tonnage of ore in\nsight over thnt extracted last year.\nFurther economies had been effected in practically every department,\nagain resulting in great savings, and\nthe board had felt justified in the payment of two three per cent dividends\namounting together to #810,000, another one of three per cent having\nmeanwhile been paid on September 15\nlast.\nThe Clarendon Restaurant to\nBe Under New Management Soon\nlast last night.
