SUPERANNUATION REPORT, 1938-39.\nREPORT OF  THE BUSINESS DONE IN PURSUANCE  OF THE  \"CIVIL  SERVICE\nSUPERANNUATION ACT \" DURING THE FISCAL YEAR 1938-39.\nSections 6, 7, and 9.\u2014Contributions were made by the employees of the British Columbia\nGovernment of $343,025.44. The Minister of Finance provided an equal amount as a\ncontribution from the employer to the Fund.\nSection 10.\u2014There were 118 contributors making voluntary contributions pursuant to\nthis section as at March 31st, 1939. Contributions received under this section amounted\nto $10,804.26.\nSection 13.\u2014Interest was credited at the rate of 5 per cent, per annum on September 30th,\n1938, and March 31st, 1939, on the credit balances of the previous April 1st, 1938, and\nOctober 1st, 1938, respectively.\nSection U.\u2014 (l.) (a.) The sum of $63,021.96 was refunded under Sections 22, 23, 35, and\n36. Like amounts were transferred from the British Columbia Government Employer's\nAccount to the Special Reserve Account.\n(3.) The cash credit balance of the British Columbia Government Special Reserve\nAccount amounted to $504,389.91 on March 31st, 1939.\nSection 15.\u2014An amount of $2,407.10 was received from British Columbia Government\nemployees who were reappointed to the service of the employer.\nSection 16.\u2014A statement of all moneys received and paid out under the provisions of\nthis Act and the assets and liabilities appertaining to the granting of superannuation\nallowances under its provisions is given in the Statement of Revenue and Expenditure and\nthe Balance-sheet.\nSection 17.\u2014Superannuation allowances were granted to 33 British Columbia Government employees.\nSection 22.\u2014Eight British Columbia Government employees died during the year and\nrefunds were made to their legal representatives.\nSection 23.\u2014One hundred and thirty-three contributors, on leaving the Government\nService, secured refunds of the amounts standing at their credit.
