SUPERANNUATION REPORT, 1936-37.\nREPORT OF THE BUSINESS DONE IN PURSUANCE OF THE \" CIVIL SERVICE\nSUPERANNUATION ACT \" DURING THE FISCAL YEAR 1936-37.\nSections 6, 7, and 9.\u2014Contributions were made by the employees of the British Columbia\nGovernment of $303,983.57. The Minister of Finance provided an equal amount as a contribution from the employer to the Fund.\nSection 10.\u2014There were 53 contributors making voluntary contributions pursuant to this\nsection as at March 31st, 1937. Contributions received under this section amounted to\n$4,242:22.\nSection 13.\u2014Interest was credited at the rate of 5 per cent, per annum on September\n30th, 1936, and March 31st, 1937, on the credit balances of the previous April 1st, 1936, and\nOctober 1st, 1936, respectively.\nSection 14.\u2014 (1.) (a.) The sum of $52,602.59 was refunded under sections 22 and 23 to\nemployees of the British Columbia Government. Like amounts were transferred from the\nBritish Columbia Government Employer's Account to the Special Reserve Account.\n(3.) The cash credit balance of the British Columbia Government Special Reserve\nAccount amounted to $359,129.46 on March 31st, 1937.\nSection 15.\u2014An amount of $519.02 was received from British Columbia Government\nemployees who were reappointed to the service of the employer.\nSection 16.\u2014A statement of all moneys received and paid out under the provisions of this\nAct and the assets and liabilities appertaining to the granting of superannuation allowances\nunder its provisions is given in the Statement of Revenue and Expenditure and the Balance-\nsheet.\nSection 17.\u2014Superannuation allowances were granted to 25 British Columbia Government\nemployees.\nSection 22.\u2014Eight British Columbia Government employees died during the year and\nrefunds were made to their legal representatives.\nSection 23.\u2014One hundred and twenty-six contributors, on leaving the Government Service,\nsecured refunds of the amounts standing at their credit.
