Will you kindly have these sent to me?\nI may state for your own information that the population of British Columbia, by the\nreturns sent and now in process of tabulation, is very considerably in excess of the estimate\ngiven in Bulletin No. 1.\nI may also state that if the Cariboo region had shown increase at all in proportion to the\nincrease of 1881 over 1871, the population would have been very much larger than your\nestimate. The fact is that the population of Cariboo shows very considerable decrease. On\ndiscovering this I requested the Commissioner to make a report to me giving his views on the\ncauses of the decrease.\nI have, See.,\n(Signed)        Geo.
