The wonderful riches of Wild Horse for a number of years attracted the attention of the old time placer miners, so that they could not see the immense quartz mineral resources still to bo developed in the Fort Steele district. ' In later years galena was struck on Victoria Gulch, a tributary of Wild Horse creek. Since then a new era has dawned mines have boon discovered and developed to-a shipping point, a number paying yearly dividends. In every camp in the district new life and activity is seeiv, and with the near approach of adequate .railway transportation, tho development of the mineial resources ot the Fort Steele district has begun in earnest". The discovery of immense beds of iron ore, the large output of the silver-load mines, increased yield in the placer mines, large bodies of copper, high grade free-milling gold quartz, all will find a market, for tho north and south railway is now iu sight, and we are assured that tho first section will bo constructed next spring.
