raised almost $3,000 for the relief
off the distressed.    In a  week  or
two   the    sufferers  drifted  back
to Fernie  and, began  with new
vigor to  again build homes   and
r.esume    their    positions   in   the
mines and at other employment.,

buildings have been  erected,  and
the city is more substantial than
