Shot Hugh McKee's Dog
About one o'clock on Sunday
afternoon in front of tbe Harvey
house on Government street, some
person shot and severely injured a
dog owned by Hugh McKee.
Hugh is unable to account for such
a cruel deed and would not have
cared so much if the person had
killed the dog but to let it return
home in such agony wag too much
to bear. It is not that the dog is
valuable but it bus been a constant
companion of Mr. McKee for 12
or more years. Some years a_go
poison was used as a means of
doing away with clogs, but in this
j case, judging from the wouud, the
dog was hit with a bullet from a
small power rifle, and the party
wiio hurt the dog was very bold as
to do it in broad day light.
