ESTIMATE MADE FOR BURNABY WATER TANKS The municipality of ilurnaby is to have erected thrc-" water tanks of wood stave an' steel band construction, with a capacity of 100,000 gallons each, and a distributing plant. The engineer has put in his estimate of the cost and the matter will soon go to the city council for action. The water will be pumped from wells and the pipe used will probably be of steel with lead joints. LARGE WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM FOR PENTICTON A good-sized contract will soon be awarded at Penticton, B. C, for a water works system and distributing plant. Tenders were to have closed Saturday and the contract will be awarded as soon as the council can act upon them. The estimated cost was $70,000, and the work included the digging of ditches, laying a pipe line and constructing a reservoir and Intake. Fifteen miles of steel and cast- iron pipe of various sizes will be required. The water supply will ho taken from i'entlcton Creek. MATERIAL TO BE USED.
