There is expected to arrive in the city on Thursday's G. T. P. steamer, Mr. Yamano Uchi, the Minister of Agriculture and Commerce in Japan. This distinguished visitor will be accompanied from Vancouver by the Japanese consul at Vancouver, Mr. Abe. They will be received upon arrival here by the Mayor of the city and President D. G. Stewart, of the Board of Trade. The visit that is being made here, is for the express purpose of looking into the situation at Prince Rupert, in view of the coming importance of this port in relation to the Empire of Japan. The visit will net be a long one. Mr. Uchi desires to examine the drydock that the G. T. P. is constructing at this port, among other points of interest.
