I have had but one short: consultation with the .Mayor as to the facts of the case. The auditor has pointed out that various items were charged and paid in the year 1014, and I make reference to his letter of March 22 to show tiie exact number of cheques paid, the total of these cheilites be ing $192.70, of $21.30 was paid 1915, With which amount on January 10, run the Empire newspaper to disqualify him from making any contract with the city.
