Whey Made A Hurried Inspection of The Cold Storage While In City. Two of the directors of the New England Fish Company, W, O'Brien and E. Randlett, were in the city yesterday for a short time. They came south on the steamer Princess Sophia from Ketchikan. Their stop here was a short one, owing to the fact that they had to proceed south by the same steamer to keep engagements there. During lhe short stop over in port they visjtod the works of the Canadian Fish & Cold Storage at Seal Cove. They also took the opportunity of seeing the other fish handling facilities here. Studd, of the Engineer Group of mines near Atlln. He went in a few weeks ago with Capt. J. Alexander, who controls the property. Mr. Studd is taking out with him 65 tons of the ore from the property. This is being taken to the Tacoma smelter for treatment. If the conditions work out satisfactorily it is Ihe intention to continue shipments, but on a much larger scale. Capt. Alexander, since he went in, has not'h'een well. The mine is working out exceedingly well. It is showing up even better than expected. ACTn ITY IN* MINING AT NORTHERN PROPERTIES Conrad Mines Are Being Taken Up Again—White Horse Shipping. From the north conies the news 'that the various mining properties are showing up well, and there Is marked activity in connection with them. At Carceoss, the Conrad mines that attracted so much attention a few years, ago are likely to be the scene of renewed activity. A party of eight have gone to work on the property and have taken in a very heavy supply of provisions and equipment. It is reported that the properties have been bonded, but no details are available. The Pubelo mines at White Horse are making steady shipments to the Tacoma smelter.
