He has made the trip west in order to make a general inspection, and also to enable him to take the, Alaskan trip by the G. T. P. steam- e.. For the last day or two the guards have been withdrawn at different outside points and everything was got ready at the headquarters at the drydock for leaving. "Everybody is working in the Interior and there is not an idle hand. The fact that British Columbia has recruited so many men and all Industries are so prosperous would make it appear as If the time will soon come when the women of the Province will be called upon to take a more active part in carrying on different Industries,, until such time as their men-folk come back from the war. The women are doing it in England and doing it well. It may not be long until they are doing it in British Columbia." GLYCERINE AND BA RK PREVENT APPENDTCITJvS The simple mixture of bucktho.- bark, glycerine, etc., known as Adle. 1-ka, astonishes Prinee Rupert people Because Adler-i-ka acts on BOTt lower and upper bowel, ONE SPOONFUL relieves almost ANY CASE constipation, sour stomach or gas. It removes such surprising foul matter that a few doses often relieve or prevent appendicitis. A short treatment helps chronic stomach trouble. The INSTANT, easy action of Adler-i-ka Is astonishing. This view is borne out by the fact that so many men of wide reputation in the mining world are making (heir headquarters here this summer. There are at least six representative engineers on the qui vive for anything good in a mining way in this country now. These men are representing large corporations and have reputations second to none on the continent. They are not making any noise about their work for that would not assist them in their mission, Prince Rupert is, fast becoming a mining centre as well as a fish metropolis. The fact that there are mines in this district that are actually "making good" is of inestimable advantage to the country nnd is encouraging capital to seek fresh Investments here.
